Basketball Fixtures and Team Preparation
Agoro Sare will open their basketball campaign against Amus College, from Uganda, on Monday. Coach Paul Odok, who had led Agoro Sare to an enviable second-place finish in last week's Championships in Machakos, expressed hope for a good show. "We shall use the championship to gain experience ahead of next year. We intend to take one game at a time and hopefully get a top-four slot," said Odok.
Agoro Sare have been pooled in the challenging Pool A with Uganda's Amus College, Hope Secondary, and International Technical School Gasogi of Rwanda. Pool B has the national champions and Kenyan giants of Dr Aggrey, tutors of Laiser Hill Academy, Tanzania's Juhudi, defending champions from Uganda of Buddo and Janan School.
Girls' Basketball Teams and Matches
For the girls, Kenya's Buruburu Girls High School is drawn to face Orkeeswa from Tanzania, Nabisunsa, and regional champions St Mary's Kitende of Uganda in Pool A. Meanwhile, Pool B will feature the Kenya national champions, Butere Girls, former champions Kaya Tiwi against Marie Riene Rwaza of Rwanda, and Uganda's St Noa Girls.
The charge will be begun on Monday with a tie against Nabisunsa, while Butere Girls take on St Noa Girls.
Anticipation and Expectations
For many participating schools, this year's FEASSA games are quite a milestone. More specifically, Agoro Sare will attend the regional showpiece for the first time, and coach Odok will adopt a realistic approach by not setting unrealistic targets for his team.
The highlight of FEASSA games is high-profile matches played at a high stake, thereby affording young athletes an opportunity to strut their stuff and gain invaluable exposure on a bigger platform.
