According to sources at GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal target Sverre Halseth Nypan admits that he feels happy not signing for the Gunners despite leaving the door open in the January transfer window.
Arsenal Missed Out on Key Mid-Season Signings
Mikel Arteta is keen to reinforce his squad in winter but got setbacks in the transfer market. Arsenal suffered a dent in their ambitions after Aston Villa rejected a big-money bid for Ollie Watkins, which has left the club without reinforcement in the early part of 2025.
The North London club moved on elsewhere to seal interest in a deal worth £51 million deal for midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, which could be completed at the end of the season, while Nypan was one of the several names Arsenal had failed to clinch.
Could Nypan Join Arsenal This Summer?
While the talented Rosenborg midfielder turned down a January transfer, his situation remains fluid. Sources close to him describe how he has considered his options thoroughly and may do so before committing to anything once the window reopens.
He has been described by scout Ben Mattinson as an "elite talent", and the teenage midfielder decided to remain at Rosenborg, his boyhood club, despite the interest of several Premier League clubs and top teams across Europe.
While Nypan remains happy with his decision to stay in Norway, Arsenal are still hopeful of enticing him to the Emirates Stadium after catching the eye during the 2024 Eliteserien season.
With the summer window approaching, will Arsenal finally land their midfield target? Stay tuned for more updates.
