Oklahoma Sooners Add SEC Wideout via Transfer Portal
The Oklahoma Sooners have been hard at work trying to rebuild their wide receiver room through the transfer portal. Coming off a brutal 2024 season where the top five wide receivers missed most or all of the season due to injuries, and three of those players opted not to return, Head Coach Brent Venables and his coaching staff have been focused on strengthening and deepening the wide receiver depth chart for the future.
Isaiah Sategna to the Sooners
In an effort to add depth to their roster, Oklahoma has pulled in former Arkansas Razorbacks wideout Isaiah Sategna from the transfer portal. Sategna is the third wide receiver to commit to the Sooners this offseason, joining Javonnie Gibson of Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Keontez Lewis of Southern Illinois.
SEC Transition
While Gibson and Lewis still have some adjustments to make as they transition into SEC competition, Sategna will feel right at home in one of college football's most competitive conferences. This trio of new recruits will join returning players Deion Burks and Jayden Gibson as the Sooners aim to rebuild their wide receiver unit and put a more dynamic offense on the field.
Isaiah Sategna's Performance and Impact
Standing at 5'11" and weighing 185 pounds, Sategna may be on the smaller side, but he proved his talent on the field last season, hauling in 37 receptions for 491 yards for the Razorbacks. He also showcased his versatility with a punt return touchdown.
Oklahoma's Wide Receiver Rebuild
While there's still work to be done in rebuilding Oklahoma's wide receiver room, these three recent additions are a promising start to the rebuilding effort.
