Arsenal Transfer News: Matheus Cunha Eyes Summer Move, Plus Latest Rumors on Wesley França and Manchester United

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha reportedly seeks a summer transfer, with Arsenal being one of the clubs linked to the Brazilian striker. The 25-year-old, despite penning a new contract with the Spanish club just recently, has a desire to move to a "bigger club," so says Football Insider. The in-form Cunha has attracted attention from top Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest, all of whom will reportedly be contesting for his signature once his release clause comes into effect this June.

The Brazilian forward has been on Arsenal's radar in January, and with the clause expected to be triggered this summer, speculation over his future is heating up. Still, Cunha's ambition to join a bigger club means that Arsenal might well face some serious competition for the high-rated striker this summer.
Meanwhile, Goal claims that Manchester United will seek to swoop for Flamengo's shining talent in Wesley França. A 21-year-old Brazilian full-back, França has become one of the hottest prospects in the country and a regular player for Flamengo since the beginning of the 2023 campaign. Though financial constraints saw United fail in their pursuit of the talented young defender back in January, they will likely be in better shape for the summer window.

França has already caught the attention of the European clubs with the Russian outfit Zenit St. Petersburg, who saw an approach for a $25 m bid get turned down. But with Flamengo hoping he would do enough at the upcoming Club World Cup to jack up his market value, Manchester United interest is expected to get pretty hot as the club finally attempts to fortify the back.
Meanwhile, speculations are going around for the young stars of Manchester United-Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo-who are reportedly set to leave in the summer. According to The Guardian, both the academy products were in line to move away from Old Trafford in January, with those links continuing to run strong into the summer. Garnacho reportedly had Italian side Napoli and Chelsea after him, while Mainoo's name too has cropped up in talks with Chelsea.
Managerial changes and financial constraints at United mean letting go of Garnacho and Mainoo could help the club raise some money required to strengthen the squad. Selling both youngsters would represent a substantial profit for Manchester United, increasing the budget available for new signings.
